The Condet Zone which is also called Condet Batuampar is a part of the Batuampar sub-subdistrict, Kramatjati subdistrict, East Jakarta. The legend behind this zone began from a spouse couple namely Prince Geger and Nyai Polong. One of their children was Siti Maemunah who was known for her beauty. When Maemunah was an adult, she was proposed by Prince Astawana, the son of Prince Tenggara or Tonggara of Makassar origin but then resided in the eastern part of Condet. The parents of Siti Maemunah accepted the proposan with a condition that the prince had to build a house and fun place above a fish pond near the Ciliwung River which had to be finished in one night. The prince agreed the requirement and the next day there was already a house there and a couch above the fish pond at the edge of the Ciliwung River with a road on which stones (batu) were spread (ampar), starting from the resident of the Prince Tenggara family. That is purportedly why the place with a road on which stones were spread was named Batu Ampar.

One night the King of Padjadjaran had bad dream. He heard a thundering sound from a gun which seemed very terrifying and not known by his soldiers. The King told his prime minister, Kiai Setomo, to look for the effective gun. If he failed, he would be killed. In managing to get the effective gun, Kiai Setomo and his wife Nyai Setomi meditated in their home. After so a long time the Prime Minister had not show up, the King instruct his soldiers to search the home of Kiai Setomo. However, they did not see anyone in the home, except two strange big pipes. In fact Kiai Setomo and Nyai Setomi had changed into two cannons like in the King's dream.

The story about the transformation of the couple into cannons was spreading to everywhere and finally was heard also by The Graet Sultan of Mataram. The he instructed that the two cannons had to be taken to Mataram, but the male cannon Kiai Setomo refused it, and even he took a refuge to Batavia. The Batavians were uproarious to see such thing and they thought it as a sacral thing. Then they closed it with an umberella to protect it from the hot sunlight and rains. Later the male cannon Kiai Setomo was named Kiai Jagur or The Strong. But the Nyai Setomi cannon was taken to Mataram.

Si Jagur is placed in the northern part of Fatahilah Garden, between the Post Office Building of Jakarta Kota and the Kafe Batavia. The snout of the cannon is directed to the Fish Market, having its back to the Balai Kota. p>Information & Invitation:
